Elton Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client, a Senior Alumni Engagement Manager. You will be responsible for helping to develop and implement our clients first Alumni Engagement strategy promoting mutually beneficial relationships between our client and their Alumni global community. Our client is situated in one of London's historic estates in the heart of Bloomsbury, they develop future leaders by providing a welcoming residential community for international postgraduate students and their families. This role will support the fundraising team and work alongside the Director of Development. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Development and External Relations, to develop and implement the Alumni Engagement strategy in order to build a more engaged Alumni community for our client
  • Develop and implement an integrated supporter marketing strategy to recruit, retain and reactivate our client Alumni across the world, ensuring the best possible supporter experience and engagement
  • Develop a network of engaged international Alumni Ambassadors that promote and encourage the continued engagement of in-country Alumni
  • Oversee liaison between the Alumni Engagement to ensure that there is effective communication with senior colleagues on matters relating to Alumni events, activities and communications
  • Regular and highly personalised contact with key Alumni which includes meeting them face to face as well as via email and telephone
  • Assist with fundraising activities and identification of fundraising prospects amongst Alumni
  • Line manage the Development & External Relations Assistant in line with our client’s procedures, supporting them in achieving their objectives as well as motivating and developing them in their role
  • To manage and monitor the Alumni Engagement budget in line with our client financial procedures ensuring that the best return on investment is achieved
  • Contribute to our client's planning and reporting process including the preparation for their Development and Fundraising Committee meetings

Essential Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Passionate about building relationships with Alumni from around the globe  
  • Provides assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the company
  • To be competent and in the use of IT systems
  • Must have previous experience working for a public / third sector is preferred  
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word / Excel / Office
